How to host an ALGAL program on algal.cloud: the pieces, the API and the limits.
Early access (test mode). Payments run in Stripe test mode and no card is charged. Accounts, limits and prices may change before launch.
The pieces
- Habitat
- Your space on algal.cloud. It holds uploaded programs, their processes, mailboxes and the history of every run.
- Program bundle
- An ALGAL program and the values it needs, as JSON. The platform names it by its content digest, so the same bundle always gets the same name.
- Process
- One running copy of a program. It moves through the states
ready,suspendedandcomplete, orfailedwhen a step errors. - Mailbox
- A queue a process can wait on. Opening one returns a receive capability for the process and a send capability for whoever posts to it.
Guides
- Quickstart: create a habitat, run a program that waits for a message, and replay the run.
- Webhooks: how posts to a mailbox work, idempotency, limits and signing.
- Account API: keys, habitats, credits and usage for your account.
- CLI: the planned
algalcommand for account tasks.
ALGAL itself
The language, the VM and local tooling live at algal.computer. Programs that run locally run the same way in a habitat.
